Zaneta Smith

Elder Zaneta Smith, a beacon of joy and love, departed from this world on January 18, 2026. Born on September 24, 1989, in New York, New York, to Ronald J. Smith and Pastor Frieda P. Smith. Zaneta was a vibrant soul whose heart was always full of her God's love and care for others.

Zaneta was a Child Care Instructor at "Kids Come First," where she dedicated herself to nurturing and educating the children entrusted to her care. She was known for her boundless energy, her infectious laughter, and her unique ability to make every child feel special. In Zaneta’s world, every child was a star, and she was their guiding light. Zaneta lived in Smithfield, Virginia, but her heart belonged to everyone she met.

She was a dedicated membered to the body of Christ, a daughter, a cherished friend, and a beloved mentor. Her life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all the children she nurtured. Let us remember her as she was, a loving soul who dedicated her life to the welfare of children. Let her memory serve as a reminder that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a world of difference

A Celebration of Life will be held 12 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, 1013 Todds Lane, Hampton, Virginia. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service at 11 am.

The following services will take place in New York: Friday, January 30, 2026. Viewing at 2PM. Homegoing celebration at 3 PM. Star Bethlehem Baptist Church, 304 Spring St., Ossining, NY 10562. Repast to follow for invited family and friends of Elder Zaneta and her family. We ask everyone to wear something colorful in her memory. Please keep the Smith family in your thoughts and prayers.
