Willis Earl Tucker "Bud", departed this earthly life on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia.
He was born on January 6, 1945, in Isle of Wight County (Smithfield, VA) to James Edward Tucker and Beatrice Hardy Tucker.
Willis received his education and was a standout football player at Westside High School. After high school graduation, Willis continued his education at the University of New York. Once he completed college, he became a Computer Analysis and IBM Programmer. Willis retired from Norfolk Naval Base after a career in computer programming. He served his county serving in the United States Marines. In his spare time, Willis loved watching football and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Volunteering at the local food bank gave him much joy and fulfillment. As a family-oriented man, spending time with his loved ones was always a priority.
Willis was proceeded in death by his parents and five siblings Arcias Tucker, Timothy Tucker, Wilbur Tucker, Sherbie Tucker and Shirley Tucker Morrison.
Willis leaves to cherish and honor his memory, daughters, Tonya Waters, Tara Tucker, Jacqueline Pettaway (David) and Tiliesha Pace Towns; sons, Willis Jr., (Nicole), Terrell Harris (Shelia); siblings, Sandra Lindsay, Louis Tucker (Betty), Bobby Tucker (Rosetta), Neville Morrison, Harold Ashe (Karen), Carol Purdie (Tilden); sisters-in-law, Betty L. Tucker and Audrey Tucker, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was loved dearly by his fellow residents at his home at Victory Village in Portsmouth as they are affectionately known as "Ponytail".

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, a viewing will take place from 3-6 pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. At 12 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, a Celebration of life will be held at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Tucker family in your thoughts and prayers.
