Willie Adams Jr., 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 18, 2019 at Willie Adams Jr., 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 18, 2019 at Sentara Obici Hospital. Willie, born on March 16, 1946, was the fourth of ten children born to the late Willie Adams, Sr. and Flora Lynch Adams of Nash County, North Carolina. He worked at Smithfield Packing Company for many years. Willie was a man of many talents. One of his greatest hobbies was collecting antiques.

On August 30, 1965, Willie married Frances Louise Collins. From this union one child was born, LaMorris Andre Adams. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Camaree Dickens, Angel Roundtree, Frank Adams, Bonnie Pierce, Mary Ann Lancaster, Teresa Adams and Shirley Edwards.

Besides his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by his son, sisters; Connie Highsmith of Georgia and Brenda Cunningham (Johnny) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; two uncles; Arthur Lynch and Jim Lancaster; five sister-in-law's, Mary Wilson, Essie Walker, Erlene Sellars, Mildred Collins and Lucy Uzzle; two brother-in-law's, Otis Collins, Sr. and Ennis Almond; special friends Frank Ashby, Larry Bynum, Lee Jones, Roy Lee, Archie Artis, John Earl Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Saturday October 26, 2019 at New Jones Grove Baptist Church Windsor, VA. Viewing will take place Friday October 25, 2019 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
