William N. Bowser AKA "Skooky" transitioned from this life Monday October 21, 2019 at his residence in Smithfield, VA William Nathaniel Bowser was born to the late Deacon Frank T. and Gertrude Bowser in Smithfield, Virginia. He was raised in Smithfield along with his six siblings. He attended school in Isle of Wight County. His early childhood experiences were in Mount Tabor COGIC under Bishop Edward Martin. William moved from Smithfield to New Jersey, with his sister Eunice, for a period of time. He married Claudetta Tillman and to their union three children were born. Upon returning to Smithfield to live, he worked at Gwaltney Meat Packing Company for many years until his retirement. At the time of his death he was a member of the United Holiness Church of Life, Bishop William L. Blackwell Sr., Founder and Presiding Prelate. He was preceded in death by his mother and father (Deacon Frank T. Bowser and Gertrude Bowser), his paternal and maternal grandparents, two brothers Robert and Linwood Bowser, his sister Eunice Pearson and his son Eric Lamont Bowser. He leaves to cherish his memory Alberta Butler (Mom Bert), sisters Juliaette B. Blackwell (Bishop W. L. Blackwell), Francine Holloman (Christopher), brother James W. Bowser, son William Bowser Jr. (Tarsha), daughter Catina Jones (Aaron), grandchildren Shanetta, Jazmine, Khania, RaSean, and Destinee, great-grandchildren Aaliya, Thomas Jr., and Nasir, a special friend Diane R. Hunt and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 PM Friday October 25, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will be Thursday October 24, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
