Wilbert transitioned from this life Tuesday afternoon, March 7, 2023 at the Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation  Center.

Wilbert Lee Drummond was born March 3, 1960 in Smithfield VA.  He was the son of the late Robert Harden Jr., and Ida Louise Drummond.

Wilbert attended Smithfield High School in Smithfield VA. His childhood classmate and dear friend was George Greene. To Wilbert, George Greene was one of the best basketball players in the neighborhood.

Wilbert enjoyed playing basketball, playing card games with his family and friends, playing his guitar with his brother-in-law, Bass Guitar Legend, The Late Larry Davis. His favorite football team was The Washington Redskins, now known as The Washington Commanders. But Wilbert’s most enjoyable hobby was Fishing and nothing gave him greater joy than teaching his son how to fish since the age of 5.
