On Monday, March 2, 2020, Wesley Jackson Wilkerson transitioned this life to eternal rest. Wesley Jackson Wilkerson, 79, was born on Saturday, March 9, 1940 to Junious (Jim) and Agnes Major Wilkerson in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.He retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding in 1995 and drove the school bus for a number of years for Isle of Wight County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Tabor COGIC where he served in the men's choir and usher ministry. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Hezekiah Wilkerson Sr., (Bernice), Beatrice Wilkerson Joyner (James), Robert Earl Wilkerson (Evelyn), Raymond Wilkerson (VirtLee), and Junious Wilkerson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Dorothy King Wilkerson; children Beatrice Etheridge (Anthony), Stephanie McRae, Charlotte Wilkerson, Rachel Gholston (Michael); five grandchildren Jada, Anthony, Tavazier, Kelley and Chandler; his siblings Dinah Oglesby (Joe), Pinkie Davis, and Everette Wilkerson (Pamela); one sister-in-law Gracie Wilkerson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2020 at Mt. Tabor Church of God in Christ, 13468 Waterworks Rd., Smithfield, VA. Viewing will be held 2-5pm Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Wilkerson is in the loving care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep his family in prayer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 PM Monday March, 9 2020 at Mount Tabor Church of God In Christ 13468 Waterworks Road Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place 2-5 PM Sunday March 8, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Wilkerson is is the loving care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the family in prayer.
