Walter Ricky Robertson, Sr.

On Friday September, 24, 2021, Mr. Walter Robertson, Sr., father, grandfather, brother, nephew and friend answered God’s call and said goodbye to earth’s cares. He was born July 27, 1954 to the late Ira Lucille and Stanley Robertson. Ricky, as he was affectionately called loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. many times forgetting his own pains, sorrows and problems. He always made himself available to help others. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Iris O. White, Lora Robertson and Cecelia Towns, four brothers; Howard L. Thomas, Wilbert Thomas, Sr, Stanley Robertson, Jr., and Willie Robertson. He is survived by his six children; Tomika R. Sykes, Keith Bailey (Laura) Nyanza Bailey, Melissa Hobson (Floyd), Ira Pickney (Dewayne), Walter R. Robertson, Jr. (Tisa) three sisters; Kathy Newby, Shelia Mayo, and Debra Robertson, one brother, Michael Robertson, Sr., Ex Wife Landora Lemon; grandchildren Treyvon Picot, Le’Swan Picot. Jr., MijKaylah Hobson, Ari Hobson, Darione Robertson Zion Booker, Dominic Robertson, Sincere Walters, Jhamir Robertson, Kamair Robertson, Jayla Sykes, Kristrofer Bailey; two god daughters; Latasha Pretlow and LaChanda Womack(Cletus) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Drive-Up Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Chapel. Please keep the Robertson family in your prayers.
