Wallace Greene Jr., affectionately known as “Stink”, was born on October 31, 1953, in Smithfield, Virginia, to the late Wallace and Thelma Greene Sr. He was raised in Smithfield and received his education in the local school system, graduating from Smithfield High School.
Wallace built a strong and dedicated work life, spending over 27 years with the Virginia Department of Transportation, where he served faithfully until his retirement. His commitment, reliability, and sense of humor made him well‑loved by coworkers and community members alike.
A man full of life, Wallace had a deep passion for music, loved to dance, and enjoyed shooting pool. His laughter was contagious, and his presence had a way of bringing joy to everyone around him. Whether he was cracking jokes, sharing stories, or simply being himself, Wallace made every room brighter.
After finishing his earthly course, Wallace peacefully transitioned from this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in his residence.
Wallace was preceded in death by one sister Evelyn Greene and one brother Albert Greene.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted wife of 46 years, Malinda Greene, two sons; Clifton Wooten and Casey Greene (wife Toneka), three sisters; Sarah Roberts, Stephanie Davis and Linda Spratley, five grandchildren; Malik, Airianna, Mahkye, Shamar, and Taeyana, his goddaughter Tracia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who loved him dearly.
Wallace’s legacy of laughter, love, and light will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him..
