Viola Jordan

On Friday, December 2, 2023, God called home one of his angels.

Viola Edwards Jordan, 80, transitioned from this life on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at her residence in Bronx, NY.

Viola was one of eight children born to the late Albert Sr. and Annie Bell Edwards in Windsor, Virginia.

Viola accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ebenezer Church. Viola received her formal education at Westside High School.

Viola moved to New York in 1973 and worked as a CNA for approximately forty-three years.

Viola was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Viola always placed the needs of others before her own.

Viola is predeceased by her husband Robert Jordan, Sr. (Bob), son Robert Jordan, Jr., brothers Ocie Edwards and Albert Edwards, Jr., and sisters Mary Hill and Lillian Melton.

Viola leaves to cherish her precious memory daughter Denise Jordan; grandchildren Amanda Jordan, Joshua Reed, Treston Jordan; one great grandchild Alyssa Ramen; brothers Raymond Edwards (Shirley) and George Edwards; sister Annie Bland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was a sweet and loving person and will be missed by all.

A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 pm Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Ebenezer Cemetery, Windsor, VA.  A viewing will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 3-6 pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel.  Please keep the Edwards-Jordan family in your thought and prayers.
