Vincent Kent Wilson

Vincent Kent Wilson entered into eternal rest at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the age of 60. He was born in Chuckatuck, VA on May 13, 1958 to the late David Wilson and Mary Wilson. Kent was educated in Suffolk Public Schools. While attending John Yeates High School, he was a star athlete in both Basketball and Football. During his senior year, Kent was voted "Most Popular" due to his playful personality. He also attended P. D. Pruden Vocational School in Suffolk, VA, and won 2nd Place in the National Competition for Brick Masonry. He became very skilled in this craft, which was taught to him at an early age by his father and his older brothers. Mastering this trade, he worked as a brick mason for over 20 years. The memories of Kent will forever be in the hearts of his mother, Mary Wilson; his daughter, Trionne White (four grandchildren) all of Newport News, VA; his eight siblings: Iris Phyllis Artis of Hampton, VA; Sylvia Lennell of Norfolk, VA; David Wilson, Jr. (Loretta) of Suffolk, VA; Michael Wilson (Jackie) of Windsor, VA; Ronnie Wilson, of Suffolk, VA; Lynette Wilson of Chesapeake, VA; Marilyn Lorine Wilson (Joe) of Burke, VA; Renee Washington (Jeff) of Richmond, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kent was loved by many in the community and will truly be missed. A Celebration of life service will be held 12pm Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everetts Road,Suffolk, VA. Viewing will be held Monday April 15, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
