Titus L Vines

January 6, 1957 — January 17, 2022

On Monday, January 17, 2022, our brother, cousin, nephew, uncle and friend transitioned to be with his Father. Titus Lydell Vines was born on January 6, 1957, to the late Naomi I. Vines and the late Herman Edwards, Sr. As a child he was affiliated with Chapel Grove United Church of Christ in Windsor, VA. Titus was educated in the Isle of Wight County Public School System. Upon leaving high school he immediately joined the workforce where he was known to have been employed with Gwaltney Foods Inc. and Edwards Garage. At the time of his death, he was employed on the campus of Fort Lee in Petersburg, VA in Culinary Arts. Titus was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth & Izona Vines, paternal grandparents Clifton and Minnie Edwards, sister, Dr. Shirley I. Wilson, and stepmother, Katie W. Edwards. He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers: Rev. Herbert Edwards, Sr. (Sylvia) and Herman Edwards, Jr.; one sister, Marquetta E. Thomas (Louis); two aunts: Lillie M. Hill and Selone Evans; two brother/cousins: Tyrone Williams, Sr. (Freda) and Demetrius Williams (Getta); one lil brother/cousin, Darrius Reid and a devoted friend, Jackie Mizell. Additionally, Titus will be greatly missed by nieces & nephews, friends and many special cousins to include Curtiss Odom (Peggy), Rita Easter (Darryl), Darlene Goodman (Michael) and Anginetta Pretlow. ~We say goodbye now until we meet again A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am Friday, January 28, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel BY INVITATION ONLY. Viewing will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the chapel from 4-6pm. Please keep the Vines family in your prayers.
