Teresa E. Macklin

Our dear Earthly Angel, Teresa Elaine Macklin, sadly passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 73. She was a wonderful Mother, Nana, GiGi, Sister, Auntie, and friend. Family called her “Cherry” and those close to her called her “Tee”. She was a compassionate mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was cherished member of the community in Claremont, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

 She was predeceased by her parents, Frank A. and Thelma J. Macklin, brothers Charles and Robert Macklin. 

She leaves behind loving and caring children, Charissa and Timothy Simmons, Tiffany and Alonzo Hardy. There are three grandsons who will miss her dearly, Timothy L. Simmons Jr., Darius M. Simmons, and Malik X. Hardy, two precious granddaughters, Jarva T. Ellis and Dejah L. Ellis. The legacy continues with GiGi’s 7 great grands, Londyn, Jayden, Aiden, Ahmad, Eden, Harmoni and Azori. She has three brothers, Frank Jr., John, and Benjamin& two sisters, Pastor Angela Buford and Chandra Hollins, along with countless nieces, nephews, and friends who felt her love, joy, and generosity. Teresa was full of love, laughter, and resilience. She touched every person she encountered. She held a long-time career of 30 years at Dominion Energy.

Throughout her career tenure, she was known for her hard work, dedication and passion for helping others. She had a passion for gardening, fishing, and working on jigsaw puzzles. We will miss her beautiful smile and her infectious laugh. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a compassionate Virtuous Woman of God. 

Thank you, Mom, for everything. For your endless love, your strength, and the beautiful life you gave us. We will miss you dearly.

Friday, December 12, 2025 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Chapel. Please keep the Macklin family in your prayers.
