Tammy Wellons Rawls 54, transitioned into heavenly rest in the comfort of her residence on Monday, January 30, 2017 surrounded by family. Tammy was born on April 26, 1962 to the late Martha Hill Wellons and Herman Lee Wellons, Sr. in Isle of Wight County. Terry Keith Rawls and Tammy Wellons were married on September 29, 1984. Out of this union three children were born, LaQueshia Rawls, Corey T. Rawls and Tierra K. Rawls. Tammy provided 22 years of service working as a bus driver and cafeteria worker for the Isle of Wight Public Schools. She also worked 13 years as a Direct Support Professional at Zuni Presbyterian Home and Family Services. For the last 3 years Tammy was a faithful disciple of Solomon's Temple and served as an Armor Bearer for the Leading Lady of Solomon's Temple. Prior to that she served at Tabernacle of Praise in Zuni, VA, Chesapeake Christian Center in Chesapeake, VA and in her earlier years Mt. Olive Holiness Church in Central Hill, VA. Tammy was recognized as a cheerleader, basketball player, track runner, and Homecoming Queen. She was also a member of the Carrsville Woodpeckerette Softball team. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking and loved caring for children. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Hermon Wellons Sr. and mother, Martha Hill Wellons and brother, Michael Ray Wellons. Tammy is survived by her husband Terry Keith Rawls; son, Corey T. Rawls and two daughters: LaQueshia Newsome (Brandon) and Tierra K. Rawls. Four Grandchildren: Jhasiah Brown, Aubryiel Rawls, Layla Joyner, and Amya Greene. Two Sisters, Dana Cary (Robert) and Wendy Johnson (Morse); Four Brothers: Allen Wellons (Donna), Hermon Wellons Jr. (Erica), Steven Wellons (Karen) and Shelton Wellons. Seven Godchildren: Navoniel Taylor, Daimond Turner, Kianna Liggins, Keion Liggins, Natasha Rose, Nia Butler and Olivia Hampton. Three Brother -in-laws: Melvin Rawls (Carolyn), Herbert Rawls (Vernell), and Ray Rawls (Thelma). One Sister-in-law, Gwen Nadiriah Sharif and a host of Godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor, Va. conducted by the Rev. Dr. K. D. Shivers. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4-7PM at the Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Pulaski Baptist Church cemetery, Carrsville, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, 1:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor, Va. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4-7PM at the chapel. Interment will be in the Pulaski Baptist Church cemetery, Carrsville, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
