Stacy Wise

Stacey Ray Wise, Sr., peacefully gained his wings on Sunday June 8, 2025 at his home in Windsor, VA, Stacy was born April 16, 1964 to Richard wise, Sr., and Estelle Newby Wise. He has a twin sister, Tracy Wise, who will miss him very much.

Stacey attended school in Smithfield, VA. He worked for Gwaltney, Joyner’s, Smithfield Inn, Smithfield Bakery and numerous hotels. He also did landscaping. Stacy was a jack of all trades. Stacy had a very gentle heart and would help anyone who needed it. Stacey loved m and would cut a rug anytime and anywhere. He always had a smile on his face. He had an infectious spirit and made friends everywhere he went. He was never married, but he found the love of his life, Laverne Young who he referred to as his wife. If there was a party or cookout, you would surely see Stacy and Laverne. They would be riding with Niva Moore, who he considered his “Road Dog” . He loved being the life of the party until the music went off or until the beer ran out whichever came first.

Stacy rededicated his life to the Lord on May 12, 2025 and it gives his family joy knowing God is pleased with his son.

Stacy leaves to cherish his memory his mother Estelle Newby Wise, his father Richard Wise, Sr.(Evelyn), his grandmother, Rosa Towns, three sons, Stacy Ray Wise, Jr., Marcus bailey and Stacey Ray Bailey; one godson, Treyvon Picott; five sisters Pauline Diggs, Chesapeake, V, Landora Lemon (Gary) Windsor, VA, Wilma Ralph (Ronald) Suffolk, VA, Estelle Wise and Tracy Baker both of Smithfield, VA, one brother Richard Wise, Jr., Windsor, VA., several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other family, close friends and his best friend Keith Holloway.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00pm on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A repast will follow the service at Little Zion Baptist Church, 9496 Old Stage Highway, Smithfield, Va 23430. Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 2-5pm at the Chapel.
