Sonya D. Simmons

Sonya D. Simmons, 56, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Washington, DC. She was born to Mary A. Simmons of Portsmouth, VA and Hurley J. Simmons of Zuni, VA. Sonya was a loving, humble person that always cared for others. Sonya graduated from Churchland High School in 1983. She attended Tidewater Community and graduated from Louise Obici School of Nursing in 1987. She had been a registered nurse for over 35 years. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Hurley Simmons and Mary Simmons, her loving son, Isaiah W Simmons, her sister Nina Williams, her niece Jessica Williams, her nephew Jeremy Williams, A special aunt Jewel Gould and a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Graveside Celebration of life Service will be held 1:00pm on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
