Sonya Ellison

Sonya Ellison transitioned from this life Wednesday June 1, 2022 at Sentara VA Beach General Hospital. Sonya Ellison (63) was born July 2, 1958 in Newark, NJ to Marian Ellison and Noah Robert Long, Jr. Sonya was a woman of many talents! She was an artist, a seamstress, a songstress, and loved to skate (in her heyday), read, play cards and craft. She was known for her deep love of music and even more so for her profound love for her children. She leaves behind to honor her memory her mother: Marian Ellison; her children: Qiana Walker (Lamonte), Yvana Ellison, Eric Ellison and Joseph Lee Maney, III; her siblings: Stephanie Ellison-Cain, Shanna Ellison, Harry (Troy) Williams and Larry Long; grandchildren: Tyrelle Walker, Jhanelle Walker, Tamaiya Walker, Isaiah Walker and Zavion Walker; great grandchildren: Rasheem Elllison-Tate and Jayceon Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends. Her celebration of life will be held July 2, 2022 at the Colonia Firehouse, 250 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ at 3pm. Lovingly Submitted by the Family. Please keep the Ellison Family in prayer.
