December 12, 1958 — June 11, 2014

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, our beloved Shirley Mae Young was called to be with the Lord.She was born to Hurley Young and the late Inez Artis.She resided with her loving granddaughter Kyra Young and her best friend and soul mate of 25 years, Tony Wilson. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Inez Artis, her brother Kin Jordan and her nephew Neishion Claiborne. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.She was kind hearted, free spirited and loving to all who knew her.Shirley was genuine.She was one of a kind, always will to help when she could.Shirley was known for her jokes, her drawings and especially her great dance moves. Shirley leaves to cherish her precious memories, the love of her life, Tony Wilson, son Raymond Lee Young, daughter Sheri Young (fianc Tremayne Laughinghouse), granddaughter Kyra Young, Jameisha McKinney, and Layanni Thompson, God daughter, MaryAlice Allen, uncles Clinton Claiborne and John E. Young, brother John R. Jordan, brothers-in-laws Jerry Wilson and James Savage, sisters Sharon Y. Hicks, Gloria Copeland (Ray) Cynthia Jordan, Linda Edwards (Vernon Ray) and Judy Edwards (Roger) sister-in-law Trina Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Service for her will be held Wednesday, June. 18, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel
