Life and Legacy of Shirley Livermon Holloway

Our beloved mother, Shirley Livermon Holloway, departed this life on September 21, 2026 at riverside Hospital , Newport News, VA. She was the oldest of nine siblings. She never met a stranger. Whenever she greeted you, it was with a smile. She was very kind and loving. She would give you her last dime. She was great cook and fed lots of people.

She retired from Smithfield Packing Plant with 38 years of service. After retirement , Ms Shirley trained to become a Certified Nursing Assistant where she used her talent for cooking and her caring nature as a home health provider.

Through every season of life, Shirley remained a source of strength, She taught the importance of hard work, respect family and perseverance. She was a born-again believer who loved the Lord. She battled many illnesses but kept the faith.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Holloway, her parents, Fred and Corrine Livermon, her brothers, Fred Jr., Jimmy, her sisters; Sharon, Ula Mae, and Judy;  and her grandson Marcus Mitchell.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; Patricia Williams (Edwin), Deborah Livermom, Shelia (Michael) Ashburn, Regina Cofer (Darius), Andrea Pope and Dawn Livermon; her son Victor Livermon (Dorothy) and her loving sisters; Otto Holmes of Smithfield, VA and Ella “bunny” Spratley of Pittsburg, PA ,grandchildren great grandchildren, Xavier Livermon, Yashica Livermon-Evans, Stacey Livermon, Juan Livermon, Victor mason ( Mandi), Startia Mangan, Direcka Towns, Tyquan Livermon, Jermal Mosley, Jr., Fernando Lennon, Jr., , Jianni Livermon, Asaujha Keyes, Nigel Kirkland, Stevi Brown, Jaide’ Evans, Jahei Simmons, Daquasha Cordell, Darius Gaines, Rhianna Dixon, Kali Mosley, Jamont Pringle, Qa’Dir Cousins, Ivan Moberley and Aaliyah Livermon “Girly Girl” ,Harlem Robinson. and a host other relatives and friends who will be forever grateful for the love guidance and wisdom she shared.

On Monday, September 28, 2026, viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. At 11am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, a Celebration of Life service will also be held at the chapel. Interment will follow the service in Ebenezer Cemetery, Windsor VA. Please keep the Livermon and Holloway family in your thoughts and prayers.
