Sarah Jane Eley, 71, transitioned from this life on Monday August 25, 2020 at Riverside Regional Hospital. Sarah was born December 5, 1948 to the late Henry and Mary Blackwell. She worked in the hotel hospitality industry for numerous years as a maid until her health failed. She leaves to cherish her memory, seven children; William (Vera) Blackwell, Suffolk, VA, James Flowers, Williamsburg, VA, Samantha Harris, Surry,VA, Reginald Flowers Walterboro,South Carolina, Jerome Eley,Surry, VA, Jermaine Eley, Newport News, VA, and Gerando Eley, Surry, VA.; fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren ; one brother Alexander Blackwell, Emporia,VA; two sisters Queen Caison, Emporia,VA, and Lucy Blackwell, Patterson, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Graveside Celebration will be held 11 am Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Tynes Memorial Cemetery, Berry Hill Road, Smithfield, VA. Public Viewing will take place 4-6 pm Monday, August 31, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Eley is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
