Samuel E. Glover Jr.

Samuel Edward Glover, Jr. was born on January 31, 1952 to Samuel Edward Glover, Sr. and Dorothy Ricks Glover in Suffolk, VA. He was called home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2020. He was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and baptized by the late Rev. Solomon Diggs at a young age. He was educated in Nansemond County Public Schools and graduated from John Yeates High School in 1972. He attended United Electronics Institute in Louisville, KY, where he met and married the love of his life, Vivian Elaine Moore Glover in October, 14, 1978. They were married for nearly 42 years. After returning to Virginia with his wife, Sam worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Ricks Glover; one brother, Elton Glover (Antoinette) of Springfield, VA; two sisters, Glenda Glover Baul (William) of Mechanicsville, VA and Kendra Renita Glover of Woodbridge, VA; two uncles, Dr. Bernard Glover of Suffolk, VA and Floyd Ricks of Windsor, VA; two Godchildren, Andrea Powell of Suffolk, VA and Brandon Glover McLeod of Woodbridge; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his Christian Home Church Family, close friends and neighbors. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Glover residence on Saturday May 16, 2020 at 12 noon. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the services will be private in consideration of the health of the public.Mr. Glover is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
