Roynol Percell Palmer

Roynol Percell Palmer, 85, of Carrollton VA , transitioned from this life, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk VA, on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Percell, as he was affectionally known by family and friends, was a long time member of the Carrollton community. He retired from Raytheon Constructors, Inc., Yorktown VA on October 8, 1999, after many years of service. He enjoyed watching television, especially, westerns and wrestling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linwood and Savannah Graham; his adoptive parents, Cecil and Sadie Palmer; his sister, Addie Jones; and his brother, George Bell. Percell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Hattie R. Palmer; children, Calvin Palmer(Belinda), New Rochelle, N Y, Patricia Hicks(John), Franklin VA, Cynthia Spriggs, Hampton VA, Reginald Palmer, Hopewell VA, Sherry Palmer and Stanley Palmer, Carrollton VA.; ten grandchildren, Johnathan, Maiya, Kimberly, Kevin, Caressa, Jamaal, Devonte, Corey, Selena, and Ja'lisa; eight great - grandchildren, Shaun, Khalil, Kevin Jr., Kameron, Khloe, Aaliyah, Ameerah and Tamara ; god sister, Mary Jones, along with other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Marcel Carter, Curtis Chapman, Dennis(Joe) Cotton, Stanley Johnson, Sr., and Harry Taliaferro, Sr., for your assistance with our loved one. You all are appreciated more that you will ever know. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Campbell's Chapel A.M.E. Church, Carrollton VA. Viewing will take place from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield VA. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
