Roses Jerlene Key, 82, affectionately called by her middle name Jerlene transitioned from this life Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Windsor Grove Health and Rehab Center in Windsor, Virginia.
Jerlene was born in Isle of Wight County and was the daughter of the late Ora Mae Wrenn and Frank Jordan. She attended the public schools of Isle of Wight County.
She was married to the late Willie James Key.
She was a member of Brown’s A.M.E. Church in Smithfield, Virginia serving faithfully as a missionary, attending Sunday School, Bible Study and volunteering wherever needed until her health failed. Jerlene loved to dance, eat, watch football and help people. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother wanting nothing but the best for them. Jerlene loved unconditionally to the very end. Her family says she was a blessing from Almighty God and was their angel.
Jerlene was preceded in death by her parents Frank Jordan and Ora Mae Wrenn; husband Willie James Key; son Michael Kea; brothers Curtis Holloman, Jessie Wrenn and Frank Jordan, Jr., sisters Marie Harrell, Pearl Wrenn and Deloris Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory children Willie James Kee, Jr., Sherrend Whitney (Lloyd) and Elaine Bradshaw; brothers Billy Wrenn, Barrow Wrenn, Richard Wrenn and Hardy Whitfield; sisters Sandy Allmond (Arthur), Nancy Baughans, Francis Gordon, Juanita Jordan, and Barbara Jordan; grandchildren Michael Wiggins, Jr.(Annemarie), Jessica Wiggins, Chesla Key and Intrigue Bradshaw; great grandchildren Nickolas Blow-Wiggins, Madisyn Blow-Wiggins, Micyah Wiggins, Nateria Wiggins, Nadarius Wiggins, Amiyah Wiggins, Mia Boothe, Joyce Boothe and Chris Worrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jerlene will surely be missed, loved and will always be in our hearts.
On Friday, October 24, 2025 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Please keep the Holloman, Key family in your prayers.
