Mother Roselia H. Major was born March 23, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Maragret A. Shivers and James Henry Holloway. She was a native of Isle of Wight County. She received her formal education at the Isle of Wight Training School. After schooling, Roselia entered into the world of employment. For 45 years she worked tirelessly in Smithfield Foods, doing whatever she needed to do to help take care of her family.
Roselia loved the Lord. She began her spiritual journey at Little Zion Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until marriage. She joined her late husband at the Mount Tabor Church of God In Christ. She remained a dedicated member in good standings for over 50 years. She never wavered in her faith to God. She served Him with her whole heart. She also served the church as an usher and as a mother of the church.
Roselia was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Beverly Lee Major. This union produced seven children, who were their pride and joy. She loved her family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her nurturing ways didn't stop with her family, but it spilled over into the neighborhood. Her door was never closed to the Lakeside community. She will be sorely missed by all who she came in contact with.
On August 27, 2020 God dispatched the Angel of Death to bring sweet rest and peace to our beloved, Mother Roselia Holloway Major.
