Robert R. Kindred, Jr.

On early Thursday morning, September 5, 2019, Robert R. Kindred Jr. went home to be with the Lord. He was born on April 30, 1959 to the late Robert R. Kindred Sr. and Pauline Carr Kindred. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Baptist Church, Windsor, VA where he served as an Usher. He attended Isle Wight Public Schools and was employed at Northrop Grumman, Newport News, VA, where he retired after working twenty- six years as one of their top Welders in Department X-18. He was employed at Gwaltney Meat Packing Plant for several years, worked with the Chapman Brothers and Jones Farm as a Farmer in his early years, something that he loved dearly. Robert loved his wife, children, granddaughter, daughter in law and family. Robert loved traveling with family, attending social gatherings with his family and spending time with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert R. Kindred Sr. and Pauline Carr Kindred and his siblings: Jeanette Kindred-Davis , Lora Kindred-Butler and Milton Dean Kindred. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Gwendolyn R. Kindred ; two sons: Robbrel L. Kindred (Tarja) of Chesapeake, VA, Dontrel 0. Kindred of Zuni, VA; granddaughter, Kengsley E. Kindred of Chesapeake, VA; six sisters: Phyllis Chapman of Suffolk, VA, Lucinda Wynn of Richmond, VA, Paulette Simmons of Surry, VA, Lottie Mae Bailey of Newport News, VA, Maxine Duck of Surry, VA, and Constance Spencer (Ricardo) of North Carolina; one brother: Charles Kindred of Suffolk, VA; Goddaughter: Tierra Rawls of Carrsville, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church 9009 Fire Tower Road, Windsor, VA. Viewing will take place Tuesday September 10, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 9000 Fire Tower Road, Windsor, VA 23487. Viewing will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Chapel.
