Rev. John P. Day, Jr

Rev. John P. Day Sr., 78, of Isle of Wight County, transitioned into the arms of the Lord on September 30, 2021. John was born March 18, 1943 to Ursula T. Day and John P. Day Sr. He was employed with Smithfield Packing Company as a Supervisor/Superintendent for over 35 years before his retirement. He was preceded by John P. Day Sr. (Father), Ursula T. Day (Mother) and Clarence Day (Brother). He is survived by: Alva P. Day (Wife) and his children, John Day II, John Day III, Jennifer N. Outlaw (Vincent); Crystal D. Jones (Quincy) and Curtis E. Warren Jr. (Benneka) and LaKesha M. Reed-Warren (Erin). His grandchildren: Ciara, Kayla, NiKiya, Dameona, Kiera, Gabriel, Katie, Vincent Sr., and Curtis III. His four brothers: Eley, (Belinda); Decosta, Teddy, Reggie (Angie) and three sisters: Marian Edwards (Willie); Lorraine Cypress; Regina Johnson (Aaron) and host of cousins, nieces and nephews. A Drive-in Celebration of Life will be held 12pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Rev.
