Raymond L. Thomas

Raymond Lee Thomas transitioned from this life Wednesday on July 10, 2016 at Consulate Nursing Home, Windsor, VA. He was born on Feb. 07, 1939 in Isle of Wight County to the late Herman Terrell Sr, and the Late Ethel Mae Thomas Terrell. Raymond was preceded in death by two sisters Jacqueline L. Terrell and Janice M. Terrell; one special uncle Fenton Thomas.

Raymond was a native of Isle of Wight County. He attended the Isle of Wight Training School. He retried from Gwaltney Packing Plant as a ham processor, where he served as a supervisor for over 30 years.

Throughout Raymond's illness he never complained. He took strong as a testimony for all to see that regardless of his struggles he was more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.

He loved fishing, and over the years he would host a big Community Fish fry. Raymond was a diehard Redskins Fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory one brother Minister Herman Terrell Jr.(Evelyn); one sister Catreena White; five nieces Paris Turner, Saleisha King, Kizzy Terrell, Trakelia Terrell, Niya Terrell; three great nieces Kyamah Tynes, Myia Person, Alexis Terrell; one great nephew Micah Person,; two special cousins Craig Wynn, Richard White; longtime friend Jhonnie M. Stringfield and a host of other relatives, co-workers and friends.

Burial Date July 16, 2019

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Monday July 15th from 4-7 at the Chapel. Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
