Omar Taliaferro

Omar Stefan Taliaferro, 34, a native of Isle of Wight County and a resident of Smithfield, Virginia, made his transition from labor to his heavenly reward on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 6:30 am.

He truly loved his family, enjoyed cooking, preparing meals, making others happy, laughing, and spending free time with others.

Omar was preceded in death by his father, Kasey Taliaferro Sr.; his grandmother, Catherine Williams; and his sister, Ebony Wynn.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of five years, LaChae K. Taliaferro of Smithfield, VA; three adorable children, Kaiden Taliaferro-Newby, Shamiyah Taliaferro„ and BraVen Kelly-Shears, all of Smithfield, VA; a loving mother, Maxine Williams of Hampton, VA; a stepmother, Eva Taliaferro of Washington, DC; two sisters, Gabrielle Wynn of Hampton, VA and Jordan Taliaferro of Maryland; six brothers, Raquan Wynn of Hampton, VA, Kasey Taliaferro Jr. of Smithfield, VA, Eric Williams of Washington, DC, Aaron Williams, Lionel Williams (Ronisha) and Tytan Taliaferro of Maryland; one loving grandmother, Christine Seaborne of Smithfield; one loving grandfather, Dosson Smith Sr. of Richmond, VA; one very special aunt, Sharon Parker of Richmond, VA; a loving sister-in-law, Shanne Kelly of Suffolk, VA; a loving mother-in law, Carlene Kelly of Smithfield, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He suffered much in silence, spirit did not bend

He faced his pain with courage -

Until the very end He tried so hard to stay here

But his fight was not in vain God took him to his heavenly home

And freed him from the pain

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Shivers Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dr. K.D. Shivers will give the eulogy. Viewing will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 3-6pm at the chapel. The interment will be private. Please Keep the Taliaferro family in your thoughts and prayers.
