Melissa A Holloway

Melissa Ann Taylor Holloway, 65 was born to the late Lee Daniel and Eva Mae Samuels Taylor on February 26, 1952. Melissa transitioned from this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Sentara Obici Hospital. Melissa was a 1973 graduate of Kecoughtan High School, Hampton, Virginia and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Public Administration in 1989. She was a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent for several years. Melissa was a wonderful poet and play writer as she displayed her gifts for many churches with writing plays. Her devotion of writing short stories and poems will always be remembered as she was just about to start a greeting card business using the various unpublished poems she wrote. She was preceded in death by one sister Sandra Lee Taylor. Her survivors include her husband Lewis Holloway, her two children Amanda and Corey Jones, two grandchildren Courtney and Zoey Jones, 4 siblings, Melody Wilson, Sharon Taylor, Angela Taylor and Christopher Taylor, one aunt, Virginia Samuels and one uncle, Albert Samuels, a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 11AM Thursday March 30,2017 at Calvary Community Church 2311 Tower Pl, Hampton, VA 23666. Viewing will be held Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel 12749 Courthouse Hwy Smithfield, VA from 4-7PM.
