Mary Baker Holland

Mary Helen Baker Holland began her Earthly Journey on July 7, 1954 and entered into her eternal rest on Feb 2, 2022. She was the third child born to Cofield Baker and Lucille Young Baker as a native of Windsor, VA. She worked for nine years at Smithfield Packing, Co., Smithfield Va. She loved to garden and cook. She also loved talking with friends and family; always lending encouraging words. She never met a stranger; everyone was a friend. She was a kind and loving person. She was a member of New Jones Grove Baptist Church until her passing and would always lend a helping hand around the church. Her love for the Lord was apparent. She always found time and a reason to praise God and really enjoyed listening to Gospel music. She was joined in Holy Matrimony Dec. 10, 1989, to James Ernest Holland whom she affectionately called Bubba. From this union were born two children, Terry Holland and Tammy Holland. She leaves to cherish her precious memory- her husband James Ernest Holland, son Terry Holland (Bernice) Chuckatuck Va., daughter Tammy Holland Hackstall, Greensboro, NC., four sisters Linda Baker, Smithfield Va., Clarice Fulgham, (Clarence) Chuckatuck Va., Anna Diggs, (James) Suffolk Va., Barbara Munford, (Randy) Hope Mills, NC., four Brothers James Baker, Suffolk Va. Michael Baker, Suffolk Va. Cofield Baker, Suffolk Va. Joseph Baker, North Carolina, Eight Stepchildren a host of Grandchildren Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 06, 2022 at Friendship Cathedral C.O.G.I.C 5511 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, Virginia. Viewing will take place from 2-4pm on Saturday, Feb. 05, 2022 at the Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Baker-Holland family in your prayers.
