On August 14, 2014 God gave Mabel Lee Harrison her wings and called her home.Mabel was born on November 12, 1924 to the late Alfred Thomas, Sr. and the late Margaret Thomas of Isle of Wight County, Virginia.Mabel was the fifth child out of thirteen children. In 1940, at the age of sixteen, Mabel moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she worked as a domestic.While working as a domestic, Mabel enrolled in the Philadelphia nigh school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.Mabel's greatest love was taking care of her family and being a daycare provider.In 1950, Mabel married Edward Harrison, Jr. Mabel loved church and served as a faithful member at the Garden of Prayer World Prayer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as well as Union Grove Church of Christ In addition to her parents Mabel was predeceased by her son, Arliss Earl Thomas; a niece, Elizabeth Ann Thomas; and a grandson, Brian C. Williams. Mabel leaves to cherish her memory her great niece, Tera Peppers (Timothy, Jr.); one grandson, Kevin A. Chapman (Margarita); two great grandsons, Aaron C. Williams and Brian C. Williams, Jr; two great-great grandchildren, Mikayla Chapman and Kevin Chapman, Jr.; two nephews, John Jasper Collins (Virginia) and James Thomas; one niece, Tracy Thomas and a host of great nieces, greatnephews and friends. Mabel is now reunited with her parents and siblings.She will truly be missed but definitely will not ever be forgotten.
