Mrs. Lucinda Dean Parker Ellis passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Surry, Virginia. She was born on July 8, 1941, in Surry County, Virginia to the late Bromo Parker and Evelyn Gilchrist Parker.

Lucinda accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Holiness Church serving as a member of the Second Senior Choir and Missionary Ministry.

Lucinda was a dedicated employee of Holiday Inn Williamsburg. She worked as a cook and kitchen manager for 30 years until her retirement. Before her employment at Holiday Inn, she worked for Master Cleaners and Rawls Byrd Elementary School in Williamsburg, Virginia.

On May 4, 1985, she married the late William Ellis. They were united for 23 years.

There were several activities Lucinda enjoyed doing in her free time such as cooking, watching/listening to religious programs, and spending time with family and friends. She would always make it a priority to host a “Back to School” luncheon for her grandchildren to begin the new school year.

Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents, Bromo and Evelyn Gilchrist Parker; husband, William Ellis, and brothers, Percell Parker Sr., Eugene Parker Sr., and Willie Parker, and here twin brother, Linwood Parker.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her four children, Graffie Edler Jr. (Sylvia), Gwendolyn Thompson, Gregory Edler (De’Relle), and Christopher Jackson (Patricia); sisters, Mildred Blount and Viola Morton (Richard); sisters-in-law, Sandra Parker and Queen Parker; her devoted friend, Charles Williams; 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

On Friday, September 05, 2025 viewing will take place from 6-7pm at Saint Paul Holiness Church, Dendron. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the church.  Interment will follow the service in St Paul Holiness Church Cemetery Holly Bush Road, Dendron, VA Please keep the Ellis, Edler, and Jackson families in your prayers.
