Lillian N Joyner

On July 03, 2020 at 9:43 PM our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was called home to meet our Lord and Savior. Lillian Naomi (Edwards) Joyner was born May 03, 1935 to the late Eddie Edwards and Mary (Blow) Edwards. Lillian was born and raised in Isle of Wight County. As well as, attended the Isle of Wight Training School. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and personal Savior. Lillian was joined in marriage to the late Andre Joyner Sr. In that union came Jacqueline Joyner Darden and Andrew Joyner Jr. Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Darden; sisters, Bertha Tynes-Batten, Odessa Thomas and Mable Byrd. Lillian was a very sweet and dear person. She didn't allow things to get to her or get her down. She always had a smile on her face no matter how she may have been feeling. When you were around her, she would keep you smiling and talking. She leaves to cherish her life memory, her son Andrew Joyner Jr.(Linda) of Hampton, Va; grandchildren Angel Darden, Dreama Darden Moore(Linwood), and Xavier Parker(Jamie); great grandchildren, Anthony Darden, De'Angelo Hartmann, De'Andre Hartmann, La'Kasia Moore and Kaeden Parker; sisters, Martha Whitaker, Mary Frances Everett , and Clarice Uzzle(Walter); along with her special niece, Dorothy Byrd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday July 9, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Wednesday July 8, 2020 from 4-6 pm at the Chapel. Mrs. Joyner is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Joyner Family in your prayers.
