Leroy Edwards

Leroy Edwards, 80, of Suffolk, VA, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024. He was born on June 2, 1943, in Nansemond County, VA to the late Alexander and Rosetta Edwards. One of 11 children, Leroy was no stranger to hard work. He left home early, to pursue work in New York City, where he met his wife of 47 years, Nicole. Leroy held several jobs including Grocery Store Clerk, Bar Keep, and finally retired as a Steel Cutter after 15 years.

Leroy is survived by his children, Marie, Judy (Marcus), and Jackie; his grandchildren, Linda, Kenneth (Kylee), David, Xzavyor, Preston; 13 great grandchildren; his sisters, Linda, Mildred (Eddie), and Katie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; his brothers Larry and Steven; and his sisters, Vernelle, Arlene, Rosia Mae, Ursula, and Alice Jean.

Leroy was a simple man and never wanted a fuss made over him. He will be cremated. There will not be a viewing nor funeral but if you would like to honor him, please share any fond memories you have. In lieu of flowers, donate to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank all who have supported Leroy in his last years and brought laughter and love to him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
