Larry Windell Hunt gained his heavenly wings when he answered his Father’s call on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Sentara Obici Hospital.  He was born on Monday, December 12, 1949, to the late Mrs. Teolar Hunt Pace and Mr. Milton Giles, Sr.

He was educated in the Norfolk and Isle of Wight Public Schools. Larry was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps on April 1, 1971. While enlisted, Larry received a General Education Diploma (GED), and served as a Combat Engineer. He was honorably discharged on September 17, 1975. Larry returned to New York and during his time there, he enrolled at the New York Medical College and completed the Licensed Practical Nursing Program in 1976. After returning to Virginia, Larry attended Tidewater Community College in an effort be licensed in nursing in Virginia. Having complete his licensure, he worked at the Newport News Shipyard for a period.

He was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Larry loved his family–immediate and extended. He was also a car enthusiast and had a special way of detailing cars. Larry was also a Washington Commanders football fan, and an avid “spades player.” He loved music and considered it to be essential in every facet of life.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dianne Hunt; five sons, Larry Holloman, Ronnie Holloman, Larry Jermel Smith (Tanika), Delvon Hunt, and Larry Tyrell Hunt; two stepsons, KaJuan and Bernie Robinson; one stepdaughter, Tina Wells (Wilton); six brothers, James L.
