The Life of Kris A. Walker

Kris A. Walker was born on June 30, 1966 in Hampton, Virginia to the late Sgt. Carl M. and Mrs. Glennie S. Walker. He was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Kris graduated from Franklin High School in 1985. After graduation he continued to live in Franklin until he married his wife and moved to Pelham, North Carolina. Kris loved the restaurant business and worked for over 20 years at Santana’s Mexican Restaurant in Danville, Virginia. Kris later returned to his hometown of Franklin where he began detailing cars and assisting Calvin Reid feeding neighborhood children every Sunday at the College Drive Park. He was also employed as a Dietary Aide with Bon Secours Hospital in Franklin.

Kris enjoyed cooking, playing cards, watching reruns of the Bernie Mac Show, listening to music, spending time with family and cheering for his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kris was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Glennie Walker; his maternal grandparents Ashby and Cora Smith; his paternal grandparents William and Jewel Walker; his mother-in-law Sebrena Dean Noble; his uncle Ashby Smith, Jr.; brother-in-laws John Lee, Jr., and Darnell Lee, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Tabitha Noble Walker of Franklin; daughter Shana Wilkerson of Franklin; his sisters Kim Walker-Lee of Franklin and Karen Walker Lee of Portsmouth, Virginia; his grandchildren Khloe, Karter and Kaisa Wilkerson; his aunt Juanita McWilliams of Lincoln, Nebraska; his father-in-law Thomas Noble; his brother-in-laws Chris Noble (Merta) of Greensboro, NC and Deshawn Jermaine Noble of Pelham, NC; his niece Krystle Murphy; nephews Kory Walker-Lee (Brittney) and Darnell Lee, Jr. (Sabrina); great niece KJ; great nephews Darnell III, Landon, and Kory, Jr.; special cousins Lavonne Outlaw, Tyrone, Terrance and Tracy Smith and a host of cousins and friends.

On Friday, October 31, 2025 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Saturday, November 01, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 318 Hall Street, Franklin, Va. Please keep the Walker family in your prayers.
