Kelvin L. Whitley transitoned from this life on Friday February 12, 2021. Kelvin L.Whitley, departed this life at his residence in Smithfield Heights, Smithfield VA on February 12, 2021. He was born on February 7,1960 to Elnora L.Whitley and the late Melvin Whitley Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Sears. He was a former employee at Landscaping Company and Smithfield Packing Co. Kelvin, affectionately known as "Kelp" to many, was a fun loving person. He really loved his family and friends. Kelp would help anyone he came in contact with. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Elnora L. Whitley. Four sisters: Vernetta C. Anderson (Brad) Detroit, Michigan, Marilyn McCray, Portsmouth, VA, Karen Himple, and Marsha Palmer, Smithfield VA. three brothers: Linwood L. Robinson, Windsor VA, Melvin C. Whitley Jr., Carrollton, VA, Reginald C. Whitley (BJ), Dale City, VA. Five aunts: Teresa Croker, Smithfield VA, Jonie Ann Davis, Carrollton VA, Hortense Harrell, Smithfield VA. Two uncles: Thomas Whitley ( Mary Jean)Smithfield, VA,William Robinson(Lillian), Hampton, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 pm Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel BY INVITATION ONLY. In compliance with CDC guidelines, limited attendance will be strictly adhered to and required. The service will be live streamed on the Shivers Funeral Chapel Facebook Page.
