Joseph A. Faltz Jr., 72, passed away on July 31, 2025, peacefully in Richmond, Virginia. Joseph was born on June 1, 1953, to Betsy and Joseph Faltz Sr. He was the second of 13 children. Joseph, also known as Bae, Pop, Mane, and Joe was known for his wittiness, craftsmanship, having a soft spot for kids, a strong work ethic, being family-focused, and his ability to inspire and mentor others.
Joseph married his best friend and the love of his life, Anna Batten, in 1979. They shared 46 years together before he passed away. Where you saw one, you saw the other.
He performed carpentry services for nearly 50 years in several positions with different companies including Surry Nuclear Powerplant and Newport News Shipyard. He is best known for and was extremely proud of the decades he dedicated to his entrepreneurial endeavors.
Joseph was a devout member of Main Street Baptist Church for many years, and he poured his heart into his faith community by serving in the Male Choir and as President of the Men's Ministry for a few years.
His love and devotion to his family was most important to him. He enjoyed singing with his grandkids, walking the grandkids to the park, debating sports and politics, traveling with family, and challenging anyone around to a chess match or random trivia facts. You could often find him outside building things for his family or completing a variety of projects.
