The Life of JoAnne Dance

Joanne Dance, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 4, 2024. 

Joanne was a beautiful and loving woman who could brighten up anyone's day when she saw you or met you for the first time. She never complained about anything to anyone because she loved the Lord and refused to let anyone or anything steal her joy. 

She had two loving, devoted and faithful friends Riley Moore and Thomas Spratley. She truly loved Riley Moore's family to include his mother Dolly Moore, Shell Mitchell who was like a big sister and all other members of his family.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her father Joseph Dance, mother Helen Dance and sister Darlene Dance.

She is survived by her loving and devoted nephew Wyndell Dance and niece Kira Dance of Chester, Pennsylvania; uncles Franklin McKay of Orlando, Florida and Sidney McKay (Shirley) of Newport News, Virginia and aunt Alma Greene of Smithfield, Virginia. She is also survived by a host of cousins, family, and friends.

We all love you JoAnne and you will truly be missed.

On Friday, January 12, 2024 a viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. On Saturday, January 13, 2024, A Celebration of life will be held 11am also at the Chapel. Please keep the Dance family in your thoughts and prayers.
