On Wednesday, February 06, 2019, our beloved father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend accepted the Master's call James Lee "Raymond" Tynes was born May 31, 1937 in Isle of Wight County, Va. He was the second son born to the late William Henry Tynes and Bertha Tynes Batten.
He was called Raymond by his family and friends. James was also the owner of T&B Auto Center in Newport News, Va. for 33 years.
James was married to the late Florinda B. Tynes. They were proud parents of six children Florinda "Tashcha" Guy, of Hampton, Va., Connie Batten (Reginald) of Newport News, Va., Raymond "Mert" Tynes (Kisha) of Newport News, Hilda "Kitty" Richard of Hampton,Va, Angelia "Angie" Granby (Kenneth) of Newport News, Va., Henry "Dell" Tynes of Hampton, Va.; one brother Wilbert Tynes (Lorriane) of Hampton, Va.; sisters Dorothy Byrd of Smithfield, Va., Virginia Blow of PHiladephia, Pa., Maxcine Hilliard of Newport News, Va., 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 3 brother-in-laws, 5 sisters-in law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm Tuesday February 12, 2019 at Campbell's Chapel A.M.E. Church Carrollton, Va. Viewing will take place on Monday February 11, 2019 from 4-7pm at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel Newport News, VA. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.Burial Date February 12, 2019
