James L. Liggins

James Lee Liggins was called by the Master to his heavenly home at Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton, VA. Monday, September 19, 2022, at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Novella Liggins, his wife Lynn Liggins and his brothers Wilbert (Beatrice0 and Paul Liggins. James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He attended Smithfield High School in Smithfield, VA. James was employed at Pembroke Construction in Hampton, VA for many years and was also the founder and owner of Liggins’ Painting. James leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Tamara Cypress, three grandchildren; Iyhana Cypress, Amir Cypress and jasmine Torres, sisters; Barbara Liggins, Clementine Baker, Brenda Ravizee (John), Catherine Christian, Laura Liggins and Joyce Chapman (Ronell); brothers; Lloyd (Chonda), Rosco Liggins (Sharay) Tony Liggins (Elizabeth) Raymond Liggins (Julia), John Liggins and Jerry Liggins (Tarmeka) and an extensive host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00pm Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Faith Deliverance Baptist Church, 6116 Briarfield, RD, Newport News, VA. Viewing will take place from 4-6 PM Friday, September 30, 2022, at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Liggins family in your thoughts and prayers.
