James Alan Lane, Jr.

James Alan Lane, Jr., 28, transitioned into eternal rest on Friday April 30, 2021. He was the first child born to Wanda Lane and James Alan Lane, Sr. He accepted Christ at the age of 13 and was baptized at Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Leslie L. Holloway, Jr. Our beloved James graduated from Surry County High School Class of 2011. Later studied at the Electronic Computer Programming Institute (ECPI). He started a graphic design business called Eternal Creations from his love of graphic designing. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. He enjoyed listening, writing, recording and rapping to music, playing video games and just observing the things around him. James had an affectionate smile that would just warm your heart. He had a quiet spirit and was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was deep and meaningful. He loved God with every fiber of his being and had no problem letting you know how good his God is no matter the circumstance he faced. James always gave an encouraging word and spoke positivity into whomever he spoke to. In his 2011 class memory book, James wrote, “Some people tell God how big their problems are, but I tell my problems how big my God is.” Those are words we should all live by. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Clara Lane and his maternal grandfather, Joshua E. Holloway, Sr. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Wanda Lane; his father, James Alan Lane, Sr. (Carrie); devoted brother, Justin Lane; grandmother, Lula Holloway; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, May 08, 2021 at Oak Grove Baptist Church 38070 Rocky Hock Rd. Wakefield, Va. 23888. Interment will take place in the Stringfield Family Cemetery, Wakefield, Va. Viewing will take place Friday, May 7, 2021 from 4-6PM at Shivers Funeral Chapel.
