Harriet I. Moore

Smithfield: Harriet I. Moore (65) was born on March 11, 1949 to Perita D. (Jackson) Frazier and Leroy Frazier.She passed away on August 1, 2014 in her home in Smithfield, Va. She attended school in New York, and graduated from Sara J. Hale H.S. . Harriet worked and retired from The Hertz Corp. after 32 years of service. She was married to Harvey B. Moore of Newark, N.J. for 13 yrs., there were three children born of that union. Harriet enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family. In 1985 after the death of her best friend Harriet took in the two daughters Ursula and Gail and continued raising them as her own. She is preceded in death by her father LeroyFrazier and her mother Perita D. (Jackson) Frazier. Harriet leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters Jannine Moore Williams (Gregory Williams) of Albany N.Y. , Daune Moore of Bronx N.Y. and Gloria Moore (Ramon Vargas) of Brooklyn N.Y., two grand-children Megan Moore and Dondre` Moore, and one great grandson Tristan Moore. Two sisters Demarist Williams and Tasnim Halawany(Ahmad Halawany) of Smithfield, Va one Aunt Virginia Handy and a host of nieces , nephews and cousins. And Melvin Holley lifelong friend and companion. Harriet will be sorely missed by friends, family and acquaintances.(especiallly for Sunday dinner).(Smile). A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Thurs., Aug. 07, 2014 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Shivers Funeral Chapel.
