Graffie Bolden Edler, Sr., 81, entered into eternal rest on, August 3, 2019. He was the son of the late James Alandis Edler and Margaret Spratley Edler. After graduating from Luther Porter Jackson High School, he was employed as a Meat Smoker at Gwaltney MeatPacking Plant for 40 years before his retirement. Graffie loved working with his hands. This would include him fixing his trucks or repairing various pieces of equipment. He was preceded in death by three of his sisters Janet Edler Byrd, Rosalind Edler, and Viola Edler Winfield. He leaves to cherish his memory his three children Graffie Edler, Jr. (Sylvia), Gwendolyn Thompson, and Gregory Edler (De'Relle) all of Surry County, Virginia. A devoted sister Peggy Edler-Mack of Laurel, Maryland. Two aunts Victoria Harrison of Petersburg, Virginia and Maria Edler of Surry, Virgina. Also a longtime friend Elise Porter of Windsor, Virginia. Graffie also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
