GLADYS GILES JOHNSON
JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE Gladys G. Johnson was born on July l, 1931 in Isle of Wight County to the late Ernest and Fannie Giles, She attended Isle ofJVight Training School in Smithfield, Va. Loving wife to the late Joseph A. Johnson Admired by her husband, family and friends. Dedicated housewife and enjoyed helping in the community to all that needed help. Yes, she was loved by family, church family and friends. She wanted her family to be successful in life and congratulated them in all their accomplishments. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and joined Brown Is A.ME Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She will be missed by many. Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Catherine Giles, grandsons, Ricky Giles, William (Molly) Diggs, granddaughters Charlene (Keith) Batten, Thomasine (Travis)Wharton, and Tracy Diggs; one brother, Willie Giles, Eighteen great-grandchildren, twenty-six great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, one sister-in-law, Gracie Giles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded daughter Doris B. Tynes, grandson Eric T. Giles, granddaughter Linda Diggs, great grandson, Master Ge'son Wooten, brothers, Fred, Ernest, and Robert Giles "Good Night Gladys, We will see you in the morning" A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Thursday January 16, 2020 at Brown's AME Church, Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place Wednesday January 15, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
