Geraldine D. Parker

September 11, 1952 — July 6, 2020

On the calm early morning of July 6, 2020, Geraldine Deloris Parker, 67, departed this life in her home. She was born September 11, 1952 to the late Dorothy Mae Everett and Clarence Freeman Parker Sr. As a resident of Smithfield, Virginia, "Lue-Lue" as she was affectionately known attended the Isle of Wight Schools ending up at Westside High. Geraldine was a dedicated worker at the Smithfield Packing Company for 42 years. Earlier in life she joined the Browns AME Church, Smithfield, Va. As an adult she became an incredibly supportive part of her community who enjoyed helping people behind the scenes. "Lue-Lue" was often called on to cook and even voluntarily baked cakes and desserts for special events at churches, funerals, birthday parties, cook-outs, and weddings. Another one of her talents included sewing. Geraldine never met a stranger but had a special love for her family. Many that she loved have gone on before her including but not limited to her parents and her brother Smith Robinson Jr. Her surviving family includes, her sons, Brad R. Parker, Roberto C. Parker, Norman K. Parker, her brothers; Clarence F. Parker Jr. and Ray Parker Sr., grandchildren; Bray Parker, Blaize Parker, Jenesis Parker, Solomon Phelps, Ari Moore, great-grandchildren; Ahmauri Parker, Ayden Parker and Nolan Parker, A sister-in-law Sarah Ann Robinson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved Geraldine. A Graveside Celebration will be held 11am Friday July 10, 2020 at Tynes Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will take place Thursday July 9, 2020 from 4-6pm at the Chapel. Ms. Parker is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Parker Family in your thoughts and prayers.

A Graveside Celebration will be held 11am Friday July 10, 2020 at Tynes Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will take place Thursday July 9, 2020 from 4-6pm at the Chapel. Ms. Parker is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Parker Family in your thoughts and prayers.
