George W. Robinson, Jr.

George W. Robinson, Jr. 59, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his residence. He was born on June 9th, 1961 to the late Gladys Pretlow Robinson and George William Robinson Sr. He was preceded in death by Timothy Chambers, Gary N. Robinson ,Sr., two nieces Sidneka L. Robinson, and Patrice A. Batten.

George attended Bruce Elementary School and Banneker Jr. High School in Washington D.C. and Smithfield High School in Smithfield, Va. He later joined the United States Marine Corps where he purified water for the entire for the ship's crew. He was honorably discharged and went on to work as a maintenance mechanic at Smithfield Packing for 20 years.

He was such a fun-loving person, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Cherishing his loving memories are three sons; George W. Bailey (Jasmine), Marcus M. Bailey Bey, and Jamal D. Addison; one daughter, Crystal S. Banks ; seven granddaughters: Nakaiyah Y.E. Bailey, Kimora M. Bailey, Jaydah N. Bailey, Jazlyn E. Bailey, Mckensie Bailey Bey, Maiah L. Bailey Bey, and Giselle E.F Bailey; four grandsons; Jordon I. Boone, Jamier S. Addison, Ilyas D. Etienne and Nathan B. Lamb; three sisters; Jean (Victor) Gans, Gail (Cedric)Newsome and Georgette (Darryl) Abbott. three brothers; Kenneth (Sandy) Chambers, Keith Chambers and Gregory L. Robinson. three aunts; Sherlie (Harold) Carter, Bernice Lee and Barbara Matthews; 1 uncle: Richard (Daisy)Williams; one special cousin; Dornell Waynes who was like a big brother to him. George also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel BY INVITATION ONLY.
