George W. Parker

June 23, 1932 — September 9, 2014

George Walker Parker went home to be with his Heavenly father on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. George was born on June 23, 1932 to the late Ida and Elbert Parker, Sr. in Hertford County, North Carolina. George worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a mechanic for many years. After retirement, George owned and operated his own business as asphalt operator until his health began to fail. George joined Emmanuel Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Masonic Temple and obtained the highest honor which is the 33rd degree. George had an incredible love for his family and friends. George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline Marie McPherson Parker, two loving and caring sisters, Ailleen Jackson and Frances Giles; one brother-in-law, William Jackson, Sr.; one uncle, Johnny Parker (Mable); one brother, Elbert Parker, Jr. (Aljourns) of Charles City, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Will Giles of Smithfield, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Harold, Ken, Ben, Darlyn and James(Shortie). Service will be held, Wednesday September17th, 7:00pm at The Chapel. Arrangements by Shivers Funeral Chapel.
