George A. Delk

George Andrew Delk Sr. was born on May 13, 1949. He was called home to be with his heavenly Father on December 04, 2014. He was proceded in death with by his mother Ruth Delk Butler, his father Ray M. Delk Sr., and two sisters Thelma Holloway, and Annie Delk Few. George was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church of God where he served on the Deacon Board and leader of the church male chorus. George also sung with Male Chorus in Boston, MA. "Send me I'll Go" was one of his favorite Quartet musicals and will forever live on today. George leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Louise Delk; his son George A. Delk Jr. of Surry; six daughters Nedda Delk, Frances Hill, both of Smithfield, Va., Shawanda Dent, Tammy Dent, Lavera Dent and Lavora Dent all of Florida; brother-in-law Ray M. Delk Jr; step-mother Ernestine Delk of Smithfield, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held 12pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing Tuesday Dec. 09, 2014 from 4-7 at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
