Franklin A. Tynes

Franklin Allen Tynes (January 18, 1952-April 18, 2020) Franklin Allen "Al" Tynes was born on January 18, 1952 to the late John Franklin Tynes, Jr. and Vera Taliaferro Tynes. Along with his parents "Al" was preceded in death by his Sister Lois LaVern Tynes Blizzard, brother Ronnie Terrell Tynes, two nephews and a great niece. Al was a hard worker starting at a young age. Previous employers were: Walter Hamlin, Gus Barlow Farm and retiring years after working at Smithfield Packing. Al dedicated his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. He loved being around his Family;sharing great memories and laughs. Cherishing those memories to celebrate his life are two brothers, Johnny Verrell Tynes, Lonnie Lynell Tynes (Janice), One God brother, Willie Auston, three sisters, Jacqueline Diane Tynes, Wanda Renita Tynes (Herman) who was also his caregiver and Cheryl Tynes Boykins all of Newport News, VA. Al had so much love to share. He was blessed with 11 nephews, 10 nieces, 23 grat nephews, 18 great nieces, 2 great great nephews, a great great niece and a host of loving aunts, uncles cousins and friends. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" ( John 3:16) A Graveside Service will be held 1pm Friday April 24, 2020 at Mt. Tabor C.O.G.I.C. Cemetery. Viewing will take place Thursday April 23, 2020 from 4-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Tynes is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
