Evangeline Moton Judkins

Our beautiful mother, grand, great and great great grandmother , sister and aunt, Evangeline Moton Judkins, took the hand of the Lord on Saturday, January 23,2021 at 1:54 p.m. "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."Proverbs 31:28 She was the wife of the late Samuel L. Judkins Jr. and through that union God blessed them with five children. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread if idleness. Proverbs 31:27 Evangeline was employed with the Smithfield Packing Company for 42 years. She also was a longtime member of Little Zion Baptist Church and attended several other churches in her lifetime. She loved preparing Sunday dinners for her family, traditional holiday parties, cookouts and monthly sister's dinner that was also attended by their baby brother, Wilbert, the party crasher. She loved music. You could catch the sounds of her two favorite songs: Yesterday and When the gates swing open, filling the walls of her home at anytime. She was a joy and to know her was to love her. It was truly a blessing to be in her company. She would never miss the chance to laugh at her children, grand and great grandchildren doing the latest dances. Her favorite dance, the belly roll, performed by her loving niece, Pamela Fulgham. She prepared her family for this day with so many beautiful memories that will forever warm and comfort their hearts. " Jesus said unto her, I am resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" John 11:25 She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L.JudkinsJr.(Barch, The Incredible Hulk, and The Sheriff), son, Steven Judkins: her mother, Georgia M. Shivers; father, Leslie R. Shivers Sr.; sisters, Shirley Bailey, Susie Gatewood, Alma Greene, Sarah Pierce, Pearl Copper, Irene Cooper and Pauline Delk; brothers, Charlie Lias and James Shivers. " Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." Psalm 127:3 She leaves to carry on her legacy three daughters, Janice(Jan) M. Delk( Iven L .Jr), Norma(Deanie) J. Judkins(Jesse L . Benton), Glenda(Jeck) D. Gray(James M.Sr.), Eric(Pookie) T. Judkins( Jackie L.); sister, Patricia Spratley and Margaret Parker; brothers, Leslie R. Shivers Jr.(Betty) and Wilbert(Yvonne); nine grandchildren, twenty three great grand children and five great great children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. May God bless us with the strength, tranquility and wisdom to continue to carry her torch of love and kindness that she shined in the life of all she touched. The family would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness, support and prayers. They will never be forgotten.We pray that God will continue toprosper and keep youand yoursalways.A special thanks to the angels at Americare Plus Home Health for caring the matriarch of our family.
